Michael Wolfinden, Founder

History:

1959: Michael Wolfinden qualified as a civil engineer specialising in the mathematical design aspects of building structures.

1968: Michael was appointed Managing Director of Murtile (GB) Ltd The Gallagher engineering subsidiary.

1976: With the age of accredited laboratories, Michael embarked on a research and development programme that successfully culminated in his first flame retardants for textiles.

1985: Michael was elected a member of Institute of Fire Engineers and continued to refine his formulations to meet the demands of fire prevention legislation.

1994: Michael incorporated Fabric Flare and the treatment facility in Beccles, Suffolk, where the processing of materials with his new 'DuraflamĀ®' flame resistant system started.

2009: Fabric Flare achieved certification for ISO 9001: Quality Management Systems.

2012: Fabric Flare achieved certification for ISO 14001: Environmental Management Systems.

2017: New Managing Director Cheryl Hopkins.

2021: Fabric Flare Solutions moved to new and improved premises at 44 Pinbush Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR33 7NL.

Today: Fabric Flare is still certified for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and continues to offer a comprehensive fireproofing solution to fabrics and timber products.
